I was taking a lesson on my mare at my trainers and afterwards, my mare was pretty hot and blowy. My trainer had this EquiCool down blanket and told me to use it. WOW!!!! My mare yawned, sneezed, licked, chewed and eye rolled. She was SO happy! Her body temp and respirations came down so quickly!!
I decided to buy one for my 30 year old PPID/EMS/IR guy who has struggled in this Central Florida heat and humidity. I have clipped him and I hose him several times a day. I get the blanket on one of the worst days so far this summer, brought it home and immediately used it on Samee. Samee is a pretty stoic guy and you rarely see him lick and chew. But guess what!? After about 5 minutes with the EquiCool Down blanket on, he was licking and chewing and I could visibly see his respirations coming down!!
Now that I have an EquiCool Down blanket of our own, my horses will be living the “COOL” life!!
